Module 3

Now we're cooking with gas! Google Docs is just the tool I have been looking for to use with the students' writing. Previously, they used to email me their drafts and I would run off a hard copy to edit them. (some habits die hard!!). Now with Google docs I am able to work with them as they construct a text. Feedback is immediate and it enables me to work individually with considerably more students each lesson. I've begun using colour coding in the editing process(spelling errors, red etc) and I suggest if would be prudent for the' powers that be' to design a common colour coding system to be used in all schools.
This tool is fantastic for jointly constructing texts. We are currently employing in the writing of their poetry responses which the boys find quite difficult. This tool is giving them the confidence to create their individual responses once we have worked collaboratively on a text. It has also made it easier to work on their texts at home as they are much easier to access having them all in the one file rather than sifting through all my emails to find them!

The Atomic Learning tool I also found extremely helpful given my rudimentary knowledge ICT.
It is easy to undertake a quick 'refresher' as I continue to venture more deeply into the Cyber world.
An excellent module that has unlimited uses in the classroom.
